(Re)Live the D-Day Landing of June 6, 1944

As if you were there…

One of the most defining moments of history, the Second World War and the D-Day landings remain deeply engraved in collective memory. GREETS invites you to experience, with family or friends (up to 8 people), the events of June 6, 1944.

With passion and curiosity, you will explore the area aboard a period Jeep, discovering the parachute drop zones as well as the battle sites of the 502nd and 506th regiments of the 101st Airborne Division. But the most anticipated moment of this unique experience is when you are immersed directly into the action, finding yourself alongside the “American soldiers” as they move to liberate France.

A unique experience

WINK OF GREETS :

Even if you are not familiar with this chapter of history, you will quickly become immersed in the atmosphere. Children will love riding in the Jeep and stepping into the adventure, while adults will soon find themselves fully engaged in the experience… crickets in hand, with the enemy lurking nearby.

A ROUND-TRIP JOURNEY LIKE NO OTHER

Let yourself be driven close to a former German artillery position, located 6 km from Utah Beach, in the hamlet of Le Holdy in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, a historic site for American paratroopers. In the village square, welcomed by French civilians, your guide will pick you up in a 1944 Willys Jeep. At the end of the day, after this extraordinary journey through time, your driver will take you back.

AN UNUSUAL VISIT

You will travel through various historical locations including parachute drop zones, crash sites of planes and gliders, bunkers and battlefields, reliving the events that took place here. Through soldiers’ and civilians’ testimonies, period photographs and archival material, the story of the landings will come vividly to life. Along the way, you will visit the Holdy Battery, a German anti-aircraft artillery position composed of four guns that were eventually captured by American forces.

THRILLS, EMOTIONS AND ADRENALINE

Along the paths of the Norman bocage, you will be dropped off alone, equipped with a cricket. From there, you will set off in search of the American paratroopers tasked with capturing the Holdy Battery. Imagine yourself lost in the woods and feel the tension experienced by the paratroopers landing in an unknown and hostile environment.
