Caviar, a treasure from the sea…

You will learn that producing caviar takes great patience and skill. Indeed, female sturgeons reach their maturity between 7 and 15 depending on their variety. When they do, trained experts harvest the eggs.  Eggs quantity varies from an individual to another. 
Then, the final quality of caviar depends heavily on the fashion in which it is prepared and stored. Its treatment requires a subtle touch since the fragile eggs cannot be damaged in the process... which makes it an outstanding product indeed!

The Comptoir du Caviar team offers you a tasting session of their taramas–a Mediterranean specialty prepared from cod roe–served with blinis. Taramas from Comptoir du Caviar are made in-house, in the Paris area. Tarama with summer truffles, tobiko wasabi or boutargue... 

Then comes the long-awaited moment: caviar tasting... you discover three outstanding varieties: Baerii caviar, Selected caviar and Oscietre caviar. To enhance this unique moment, the house serves you a couple of glasses of champagne which will reveal caviar’s rich flavors.
